Teak Root Wood

felled plantation trees

Root wood is a left-over product of felled plantation trees. Water markings and circular or squiggly grains characterise this type. As it’s spent all of its life beneath the soil, it has not been affected by sunlight or rain. Instead, the minerals in the soil and rainwater trickling through to deeper layers have left their mark.

In some way our roots lie in Indonesia. It was the country where we found our first supplier of reclaimed and salvaged woods and the location of our first workshop. It’s a small outfit brimming with life and creativity. For us a home away from home.
